Disciple Now Weekend
Feb. 06, 2009

Disciple Now Weekend for all students grades 7 - 12 will be held on February 6th, 7th and 8th.  Why should students sign up for Disciple Now?

This is your chance to spend a weekend with some of God's special people.  Some of the finest small group leaders in the state of Alabama will come to our church prepared to offer you friendship, guidance, and encouragement.  You will get to hear guest speaker Justin Hill, and the awesome band "Further Still".  You also have a chance to spend a weekend with some of your closest friends, and the opportunity to develop new friendships.  It will be a time of Bible Study, Sharing, Fellowship, Recreation, Good Food and Fun.  This retreat-like event will take place in the homes of our own members.  "Disciple Now" is a learning experience that could very well change your life.  We hope you will sign up today!


More Than Married Workshop
Jan. 30, 2009

Hosted by CrossPointe Church, this conference is presented by John and Sue Vining, with material from Great Commandment.net and Intimate Life Ministries.  The event dates are Friday evening, January 30th and Saturday morning, January 31st, 2009.  Cost is $50 per couple, or $25 per person and includes the workshop, workbook, snack supper Friday night and continental breakfast Saturday morning.  Childcare is available and should be reserved at the time of registration.

Missions Opportunities

 If you would be interested in helping serve a meal at the Downtown Rescue Mission once per month, please contact Bill Van (837-8016 or w.van@mchsi.com).   You can also sign up in Connections Central...

Ongoing opportunity at the Downtown Rescue Mission:  Every month on the 2nd Saturday, from 9:30 - 11:00 AM.  Help provide a Sunday School lesson to women and girls.  This requires only female volunteers, since it takes place in the Women's Building at the DRM.  Contact Leah Packard (489-4416 or 479-5791).
